CORS error or domain not registered

Correct a Mini Viewer SDK page that cannot load a model because its domain is not registered.

Symptom

  • The browser console shows a CORS error when the SDK loads a model.
  • The model loads in the iJewel platform but not on your website.
  • The viewer shows an "iJewel3D Evaluation Version" watermark.

Cause

The Mini Viewer SDK runs directly on your page. iJewel3D accepts SDK requests only from registered domains. An iframe embed does not have this limit.

Fix

Step 1 of 8
  1. Decide if an iframe embed is sufficient. An iframe embed by ID, tag or name needs no domain registration.
  2. For the SDK, open Settings → Apps, embed and API → Domains in the iJewel platform.
  3. Select Add domain. Then type the exact hostname of your website.
  4. In Hosting, select Your website hosts the viewer. Then select Add domain.
  5. Register each hostname. example.com, www.example.com and shop.example.com are different hostnames.
  6. Make sure that the file is public. A private file needs a token.
  7. If you load a model by tag or by name, also pass the folder ID. See Show a model by tag or name.
  8. Publish the page. Then test it on the registered hostname.

Enterprise instances

On an enterprise instance, you cannot add a domain yourself. Ask iJewel3D support to register the domain.

Do not set a licence key

The watermark means that the domain has no licence. A licence key does not remove it.

If the problem continues

Contact support. Send the hostname, the file ID and the text of the console error.
