Allow or stop downloads ​

Use the download switch in the Share window to let people download a model or to stop the download.

Download is off for each new file. You can let people download a model. You can also stop the download again at any time.

Before you start ​

  • You must own the model or have the rights to distribute it.
  • The download switch is available for files. It is not available for folders.
  • On an enterprise instance, the administrator can turn off downloads. The message Downloading is disabled by the admin then shows.

Allow downloads ​

Step 1 of 5
  1. Right-click the file and select Share › Manage links and access.
  2. In the Link tab, go to Drive link.
  3. Turn on the Allow download switch. A checkbox shows below the switch.
  4. Select the checkbox I own this model and I have the rights to distribute it.
  5. Select Confirm and allow.

The text below Allow download is People with the Drive link can download the file.

To keep the download off, select Cancel.

A protected file shows the label Protected next to the switch. Its download opens only in iJewel viewers.

Stop downloads ​

  1. Open the Share window for the file.
  2. Turn off the Allow download switch.

A confirmation is not necessary.

Models that nobody must copy

Keep the download off for a model that nobody must copy. For more protection of the 3D data, refer to Protected files.
