The model looks scrambled on my domain
A protected file shows as broken shapes on a custom domain, and the original file corrects the problem.
Symptom
On your own domain, the model shows as broken or scrambled shapes. The material options can look scrambled too. The same model looks correct on ijewel3d.com.
If you see a different problem, use this table.
| What you see | Cause |
|---|---|
| An empty page with the text "Open a share link" | The file is not public, or the ID in the link is wrong. Refer to Share link shows a blank page. |
| A "setting up" page or an SSL error | The DNS setup of the domain is not complete. Refer to Connect a custom domain. |
Cause
The file is a protected file. A protected file is encrypted. At this time, a protected file shows correctly only on ijewel3d.com and not on a custom domain.
Fix
Step 1 of 6
- Find out if the file is protected. A file is protected if you used More › Make protected on it. A file is also protected if Protect on upload was on in the upload settings.
- If you used Make protected, find the original file. Make protected makes an encrypted copy, and the original file stays.
- Make sure that the original file is public.
- Use the link of the original file on your domain.
- If you have only the protected file, upload the model again with Protect on upload set to off.
- Use the link of the new file on your domain.
All 6 steps are done.
The original file is not encrypted
The original file has no protection. Share it only if that is acceptable for this model.
