Share link shows a blank page
What to check when a share link or an embed shows no model, or asks the visitor to sign in.
Symptom
A person opens your share link, or a page that has your embed. The person sees one of these results:
- A viewer with no model.
- A sign-in page.
Cause
In almost all cases, the file is not public. A new file is private. Only you and the people that you invite can open a private file.
Fix
Do the checks in this sequence. Stop when the link opens.
1. Make the file public
- In the iJewel platform, find the model.
- Right-click the model and select Share › Manage links and access.
- At the top of the Link tab, open the access menu and select Anyone with the link.
- Open the link in a private browser window. A private window shows what your client sees.
All 4 steps are done.
2. Check the folder
If you share a folder, the folder must be public. Each folder above it must be public also.
3. Check the trash
A file in the trash does not open. Restore the file, then open the link again.
4. Embeds by tag or by name
An embed that finds the model by tag or by name needs two things:
- The file is public.
- The embed address has a
scopevalue. Thescopeis the ID of the folder that holds the file.
Refer to Embed on your website.
5. Links on your own domain
A protected file shows correctly on ijewel3d.com only. On your own domain, share the original file that is not protected.
