BatchX stops on large batches
Divide a large BatchX batch into smaller batches when the app hangs or has no more memory.
Symptom
- The BatchX desktop app hangs in the middle of a large batch.
- The app stops because the computer has no more memory.
Cause
A batch of more than about 25 to 30 models can use all the memory of the computer. The exact number changes with the memory (RAM), the video memory and the complexity of the models.
Fix
Step 1 of 7
- Divide the models into groups of about 25.
- Put each group in its own folder.
- Copy the same
.vjsonscene file into each folder. Each folder must have exactly one.vjsonfile. - Render each folder as a separate batch.
- If a group still stops, make the groups smaller.
- Compare your computer with the System requirements.
- If your models are heavy, make them simpler. See Prepare 3D models.
All 7 steps are done.
Same look in each batch
All the batches use the same scene file. Thus the images and videos from each batch have the same look.
