Find the File ID
Find the ID of a file or a folder on the iJewel platform for embeds, links and the SDK.
Each file and each folder on the platform has an ID. Embeds, links on your own domain and the SDK use the File ID to find a model. The File ID is also called the model ID.
Before you start
- You are signed in to the iJewel platform.
- The file is in My Drive.
Copy the File ID from the menu
Step 1 of 4
- Open My Drive.
- Right-click the file.
- Select Share, then Copy file ID.
- Paste the ID where you need it.
All 4 steps are done.
The message "File Id copied to clipboard" shows after step 3.
Read the File ID from the link
Step 1 of 3
- Open the model in the viewer.
- Look at the address of the page.
- Find the text between
/files/and/view. This text is the File ID.
All 3 steps are done.
Find the folder ID
An embed by tag or by name needs a folder ID as its scope value.
Step 1 of 3
- Open the folder in My Drive.
- Look at the address of the page.
- Copy the last part of the address. This part is the folder ID.
All 3 steps are done.
You can also right-click the folder and select Share, then Copy file ID.
Where you use the ID
| Use | Where the ID goes |
|---|---|
| Embed by ID | In the embed code. Refer to Create an embed. |
| Link on your own domain | In the id value: https://your-domain/?id=FILE_ID |
| Viewer SDK | In the loadModelById call |
The ID stays the same
When you replace a file, the File ID does not change. Your embeds and links continue to work.
