  1. Experience seamless viewing of your 3D jewelry models directly within Rhino.
  2. Export your Rhino models directly to the iJewel Viewer.
  3. Provides different options within the viewer to rotate, zoom, and pan around your imported 3D model.
  4. Create and customize your own configurator using a predefined set of metal and gem libraries, applying selected materials to your models according to your preferences.
  5. Enhance your models further by applying different metal and gem environment maps available from the library.
  6. Adjust advanced settings like environment rotation and intensity to achieve the perfect look for your designs.
  7. Share your creations with clients, allowing them to view and interact with your designs in real-time, thereby providing an engaging experience.

The plugin can be downloaded from the Package Manager in Rhino or from food4rhino - iJewel3D Viewer.

Usage

After installing the plugin, load any 3d file, and use the command iJewelViewer to launch the 3D viewer with realtime realistic rendering.

Layers and Materials

The plugin automatically assigns materials to layers based on the layer names.

In the following video, we guide you through on how to ensure if all your layers are correctly defined and materials are accurately assigned.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Standard Layer Naming Conventions:

-Gold/Metal Materials: Layers named Metal, Metal 01, Metal 02, Metal 03, Metal 04, Head, or Heads will automatically get assigned gold/metal materials. -Diamond Materials: Layers named Gem, Gem 01, Gem 02, Gem 03, or Gem 04 will be assigned diamond materials.

  1. Editing Layer Names:

You can rename layers in the configurator to set it as per your preferences. This allows for better organization and customization of materials.

  1. Handling Unwanted Elements:

If you find extra elements that don’t fit your design, simply select the layer in Rhino and disable it. This will hide the layer, and it won’t appear in the plugin.

  1. Correcting Material Assignments:

If the same material is applied to multiple diamonds (grouped in the same layer), you can easily separate them in Rhino. Just ungroup the diamonds and assign different layer names to each for accurate material application.

Follow along with the above video to ensure your designs are perfectly prepared for presentation with iJewel Viewer.

Sharing

After creating and customizing your jewelry models, you can share them with your clients or other designers. Click the share button at the top of the viewer to generate a link that can be shared with anyone. The link remains active for 7 days and can be used to view the model in the viewer.

The shared model can be viewed on any device, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. The viewer is optimized for all screen sizes and provides a smooth and interactive experience for the user.

To share the model permanently and build your personal portfolio, check out ijewel.design - a platform for designers and jewelers to showcase their 3D models and connect with clients and collaborators.

Encryption

Models can be also be encrypted(password protected) before sharing. Before sharing the model, click the Encrypt button, and you will be prompted for a password to encrypt the model. The encrypted model can only be viewed by entering the correct password.

All the encryption happens locally on your machine, and the password is not stored or transmitted to the server. The encryption is based on AES-256 encryption, which is a widely used and secure encryption algorithm.

If the sign-in does not work, contact support. Tell us the plugin version and the message that you see.

Where does my model go?

The plugin exports the model to a folder on your computer. A local server of the plugin on your computer sends the model to the viewer page. The viewer renders the model on your computer.

The model goes to iJewel3D only when you select Save to iJewel3D, Save to iJewel Design or Temporary save. For more about the protection of your files, see Security.

The plugin and a firewall

Give your IT team this list:

ConnectionWhy the plugin needs it
https://ijewel3d.comThe viewer page and iJewel Playground.
http://google.com/generate_204The plugin checks the internet connection here. If this check fails, the plugin shows a "no internet" message.
127.0.0.1, ports 8469 to 8498The local server of the plugin. These connections stay on your computer.

The viewer page also loads materials and other files from iJewel3D servers. For the full list of addresses, contact support.

I have more than one Rhino window open

Each Rhino window that runs a plugin command uses its own local port, from 8469 to 8498. The address of the page has this port in p=. The page shows the model of the Rhino window that opened it.

To work on a model in a different Rhino window, run the command again in that window. Close the pages of the Rhino windows that you do not use.

MatrixGold

MatrixGold has an iJewel Viewer button. The button exports the model from MatrixGold to iJewel3D. Sign in with your iJewel3D account, the same as in Rhino. See Sign in to the plugin.

Models that you save with Save to iJewel3D count against the limits of your iJewel3D plan. See Plans and limits.

For the products and the access that your MatrixGold licence includes, ask us on the contact page.
