The file is over the limit
What to do when an upload stops because of the file size limit or the model limit of your plan.
Symptom
The upload does not start, and one of these messages shows.
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "File size exceeds the user plan limit of ... MB." | The file is larger than your plan permits. |
| "File size exceeds the drive plan limit of ... MB." | The file is larger than your instance permits. |
| "You have reached the maximum number of files allowed." | Your account has the maximum number of 3D models. |
Cause
Your plan sets a maximum size for one file and a maximum number of 3D models. The platform checks the two limits before each upload.
Fix
If the file is too large:
Step 1 of 4
- Find the size limit of your plan in File limits.
- In Rhino, use the
ReduceMeshcommand on heavy parts. - Use block instances for identical parts, such as small stones and prongs.
- Export the file. Then upload it again.
All 4 steps are done.
If you have the maximum number of models:
Step 1 of 3
- Delete the models that you do not use.
- If you need more models, buy a model pack. A model pack adds 200 or 1,000 models.
- As an alternative, change to a higher plan.
All 3 steps are done.
If you use an enterprise instance, speak to the admin of your instance. The instance has its own limits.
